Zarnab Tufail

So, you want me to have

an apology. Ask me again

for forgiveness, this time

Keep it simple; no more tints,

no more buts fitting between

lines. Ask me to not read between

the lines because there is nothing

to be read there. Your apology

must be a blank page with shame

scrambled all over it. Deliver it

yourself with guilt resting on

your fatherly shoulders like you

just walked the Sahara to get to me.

Bring it with so much agony that even

my sight sends you running away.

Back to when we were still young

and in love.
